MSS and Jeju Province Sign MOU to Prepare for 2025 APEC SME Ministerial Meeting

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) and the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to cooperate in the preparation and operation of the 2025 APEC SME Ministerial Meeting.

As the 2025 APEC Chair, Korea will host the meeting from September 1 to 5 at the Jeju International Convention Center, with the participation of all 21 APEC member economies.

The meeting will be held under the theme "MSMEs as Engines of Sustainable and Inclusive Growth," focusing on policy and cooperation in the areas of innovation, inclusiveness, and sustainability.

MSS plans to introduce Korea’s startup ecosystem and open innovation policies while leading efforts to expand cooperation among APEC member economies.

In addition, a series of events including the Challenge! K-Startup Opening Ceremony and the Global Venture Investment Forum will be held under the unified brand “Global Startup Day in Jeju.”

The ministry aims to promote Jeju’s image as a startup- and SME-friendly region by leveraging its pristine nature, advanced industries, and vibrant local businesses.
