The Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) announced that it held the "APEC One Team Meeting" on June 19-20 at ICC Jeju, the main venue for the upcoming 2025 APEC SME Ministerial Meeting, scheduled for September. The Meeting brought together around 100 participants from key government agencies and related organizations-including the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS), Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, KOSME, the Korea Startup Promotion Agency (KOSPA), the Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs (TIPA), as well as private sector groups such as the Korea Venture Capital Association, Korea Venture Investment Corp., the INNOBIZ Association, and the MAINBiz Association. As Korea, the 2025 APEC Chair, is also set to host the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Gyeongju later this year, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups will hold the “APEC SME Ministerial Meeting” from September 1 to 5 at ICC Jeju, welcoming representatives from all 21 APEC member economies. This APEC One Team Meeting was designed to go beyond just preparing for official events such as ministerial and working-level meetings. It also focused on refining strategies for major events involving ventures, startups, and microenterprises, while also developing promotional plans to highlight the innovation of Korean SMEs, startups, and small business owners on the global stage. During the Meeting, participants also conducted comprehensive reviews and coordination of event logistics to ensure seamless hosting of international delegates. Areas of focus included conference venue setup, accommodation, transportation, public relations, protocol, and staffing support. Kang Seok-jin, President of KOSME, stated, “As this is the first SME Ministerial Meeting to be held in Korea in 20 years, and set to be the largest of its kind, we will mobilize the full force of the ‘APEC One Team’ system to ensure both scale and substance.” Source: Gyeongnam Ilbo https://www.gnnews.co.kr/news/articleView.html?idxno=609979 |
